La Pryor Dogz defeat Somerset Sharks
February 22, 2010
The first ever amateur football team for La Pryor, Texas was victorious Saturday, February 20, 2010 as they defeated the Somerset Sharks, 16-14. Brantley stadium was the site for this match as funds generated from this match will go towards the Si Se Puede Scholarship to be awarded to a senior at 2010 graduation. The football game was reminiscent of the fall football season as a large crowd helped to cheer the La Pryor team to victory.
The team owner of the La Pryor Dogz is Eloy Vera, Jr. The head coach is Tony Aguilar, Offensive Coordinator is Chris Morales, and Defensive Coordinator is Ozzy Cardenas. The Dogz roster includes 13 out of 25 players from the La Pryor area that suited out for this amateur football game.
We would like to thank the La Pryor community and the La Pryor Dogz organization for coming out and supporting the Dogz team in its first victorious game here at La Pryor, Texas.
